Welti, a young Fulani woman gladly accepts immunization for Polio for her infant son.

Blair was probably the first white man this little girl ever saw. Her father was led to Christ after receiving medical care.

Hawa and Hawao are two joyous Fulani believers.

This mother came for medical care on her way to the market to sell her roosters. She may have walked 3-4 miles with these chickens on her head.

These are two Fulani young men! The long brightly colored shirt and braided hair are characteristic of teen-age male dress. The man in purple is a few years older and more modestly dressed as is Fulani
tradition. They are listening to a Gospel message on a hand-cranked cassette player.

Mosques are buildings where Muslims gather to pray, mostly on Friday. They are centers of
urban Muslim life.

This herd of cattle has come close to a fire at the end of the day. Fulani families usually own
from 30-150 cows.

These young men are in full courting array. They have loudly colored long shirts, braided hair, and even ostrich plumes in their hair. They are carrying their traditional Fulani herding sticks.
