Allen and Anna joined about 5,000 other Americans at the residence of the US ambassador to Costa Rica for the annual July 4th celebration.

There were hotdogs, cotton-candy, ice-cream, ox-cart rides, Uncle Sam, a Costa Rican band, square dancers, and, of course, lots of red, white, and blue balloons.
