How to Have Peace With God

New Fulani

Is something missing in your life?

This is what the Bible tells us:

  • Your heart tends to run from God and rebel against Him. The Bible calls this, "sin." Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
  • Yet God loves you and wants to save you from sin, to offer you a new life of hope. Jon 10:10 says, "I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full."
  • To give you this gift of salvation, God made a way through His son, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
  • You receive this gift by faith alone. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For it is by grace you have been save, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, sot that no one can boast."
  • Faith is a decision of your heart demonstrated by the actions of your life.

Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

If you will choose to believe Jesus died for your sins and to receive new life through Him, you should pray telling God something similar to this, thanking him for your new life:

"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died to forgive me of my sins. I now accept your offer of eternal life. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins. I now accept Your offer of eternal life. Thank you for forgiving me of my sin. Thank you for my new life. From this day onward, I will choose to follow you."

If this expresses the prayer of your life, get in contact with a local Baptist or other living church or pastor, today. Any of the missionaries on this site will be glad to correspond with you regarding your decision or contact Lifeway.com.

Another way of looking at this.....

Turnstiles are commonplace today. We enter ball games, movies, and theme parks through turnstiles. Unlike a wide gate, turnstiles provide a good way to control people traffic and to collect tickets. Turnstiles are narrow and are designed to allow only one person to enter through them at a time.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus used an illustration that tells us there are two choices, or two gates, through which people will enter into eternity. The first gate is the wide gate that leads to eternal destruction. Some people call this "doing your own thing." This way never works. It's like trying to "crash the gate" or enter without a ticket. The rule is, you have to have a ticket and you have to come through the gate.

The other gate is the narrow gate, the gate that leads to eternity with God. The ticket is Jesus' death on the cross for you. The gate is doing things God's way. God has given each of us complete freedom to choose how we will spend eternity. Jesus wants each person to choose the narrow gate. Even though God loves each of us, Jesus said that not everyone will be saved because not everyone will choose the gate, or the turnstile, that leads to the narrow way. Some will try to leap the turnstile. That doesn't work, either. Each person must choose as an individual to enter the narrow way.

That narrow way is Jesus. Jesus came to bring forgiveness for sinners. He died on the cross so you can have a ticket. All persons are sinners and in need of forgiveness.
If you feel something is missing in your life right now, God may be making you aware that you are guilty of sin and unworthy to come before him on your own.

You can turn away from your sin and place your faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord
right now. That's accepting the ticket. Admit to God that you can never meet his expectations -- you are a sinner. Ask him for the forgiveness of sin Jesus offers. Place
your faith in Jesus as your Savior -- the one who obtains forgiveness for your sins --
and your Lord -- your guide and leader in life. That's entering the gate. Then tell a
Christian friend or pastor of your decision so you can join with other believers and
become the productive follower Jesus wants you to become.

Jesus will change your life! He said, "I have come that [you] may have life,
and have a life of abundance
.." This means that you'll have a life full of love
and peace and joy. Won't you enter through the turnstile, today?
